# Michael Koehler

Born in Dresden, Michael Koehler began his career as a solo pianist before becoming Artistic and Music Director of the Leipzig Philharmonic Orchestra (2000), Principal Conductor of the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra (2008), Principal Guest Conductor of the Festival Internazionale della Cultura in Bergamo, professor at SMU University in Seoul (2010), and General Music Director of the Shanxi Symphony Orchestra in Taiyuan (2019).
